I Protect the Chimpanzees: Artist Reception
Sunday, November 8, 2:00-4:30 p.m.
Visit with Debbie Meyer and Diane Toomey, creators of the book I Protect the Chimpanzees. Created for the school children of Cameroon, the book is based on a true story of a young man who brought an orphaned chimpanzee to the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in the Mbargue Forest. Images in the show include photographs from Jacques Gillon and Debbie Meyer and watercolor illustrations from the book. The show is made possible by a grant from the Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library and the Orange County Arts Commission. Carrboro Branch Library, located in McDougle Middle School.

Working on that novel? Enjoy the company of other writers and get it done during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). We’ll supply coffee, tea, and prizes. You supply the words! Open to aspiring novelists of all ages. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Main Library.

Getting to Know Your Bird Neighbors

Bird nests. Flight and migration. Bird food and communication. Learn about what makes birds tick and more while playing games and having fun. A drop-in hosted by the New Hope Audubon Society. For youth of all ages and their families. Main Library.

Writing an Effective Business Plan
